It is a real privilege to welcome you to St Brendan’s – a school full of faith, kindness, ambition and joy, where every child is known, valued and encouraged to flourish.

I am incredibly proud to be Headteacher of our wonderful school and to lead a community that believes passionately in developing the whole child. At St Brendan’s, children are at the heart of everything we do, and we want every child to feel that they belong, that they are cared for and that they can achieve great things.

We believe education is about so much more than academic success. Our ambition is to nurture hearts and minds, build character and confidence, and help every child discover who they are and who they can become.

We want our children to leave us not only as successful learners, but as happy, resilient and compassionate young people who are curious about the world, confident in themselves and ready to make a positive difference within it. Above all, we want them to understand the power of kindness – to themselves, to one another and to the world around them.

Our Catholic faith is at the heart of school life. It shapes our relationships, our decisions and the way we treat one another. Through Christ’s example, our children learn the importance of kindness, respect, forgiveness, service and love. We want these values to be more than words – we want them to be seen and felt in the way we live, learn and grow together every day.

Our curriculum is designed to inspire. It is rich, broad and ambitious, giving children opportunities to explore, question, create, discover and make meaningful connections in their learning. Alongside strong academic foundations, we deliberately create opportunities for children to develop their talents, character, independence and sense of responsibility.

Wellbeing is central to this. Through our faith and the Five Ways to Wellbeing, we help children understand how to care for themselves and others, build positive relationships, recognise their emotions and develop the resilience they need to navigate life with confidence and kindness.

Most importantly, we want St Brendan’s to be a place where children love coming to school. A place where they feel safe enough to take risks, confident enough to ask questions, supported when things are difficult and celebrated for what makes them unique. A place where kindness is noticed, encouraged and lived every day.

We know that children thrive when school and home work together. Our relationships with families, our parish and the wider community are an important part of who we are. Together, we want to give every child the strongest possible foundations for their next steps and for life beyond St Brendan’s.

Our website will give you a glimpse of our school, but it cannot fully capture the energy, warmth and sense of belonging that make St Brendan’s special. I warmly encourage you to come and visit us, meet our children and staff, and experience our school for yourself.
