At St. Brendan’s we strive to give children the best, most active and healthy start in their lives.

At St. Brendan’s we believe in spending the Sports Premium Funding on improving the delivery and quality of PE and School Sport in a way that will be sustained in the future and will have maximum impact on the lifestyles of our children.

To encourage healthy lifestyle choices, children receive a minimum of 2 hours of school sport per week. All Key Stage One and Two classes timetable 2 lessons of PE per week, where the children follow the Real PE scheme of work. This scheme is inclusive and challenging and encourages children to take ownership of their learning. It focuses on three core principles of agility, balance and coordination while incorporating a healthy sense of competition and cooperative learning. More information on Real PE can be found on their website www.createdevelopment.co.uk/real-pe
