ESFA Football League – Finals
The school football team made it to the Finals night of the ESFA football league on the 4th December. The team were nervous with it being the finals and a knock-out competition but they put their nerves to one side and played brilliantly. First up in the quarter-final we played Beanfield School. St. Brendans were strong and played well as a team, winning the game 3-0. Next, we were in the semi-final, against St. Patrick’s school. Feeling confident from their previous win, St. Brendan’s dominated and we had brilliant 5-0 win. We had then made it through to the final, where we were against Danesholme School. We played exceptionally well going 1-0 up, however Danesholme fought back making it 1-1 at half time. The second half was a nail-biting watch for all who attended and Danesholme managed to take the lead and win 2-1 in the final few minutes. St. Brendan’s put in an amazing effort throughout the entire competition, finishing 2nd out of 18 different school and represented our school with pride! Well done boys!

Table Tennis Competition
8 children from year 5 and year 6 were lucky to attend a table tennis competition at the Corby Smash Table Tennis centre on Tuesday 6th May. The children worked as a team to compete in 7 different table tennis games which children competed to earn points for their school as well as improving their skills. We were also extremely privileged to have a talk from Colin Wilson, former Common Wealth champion, and he even let us try on his Common Wealth games medal!
We managed to score enough points to secure fifth place overall and a great day was had by all – with many children saying they would love to go back again. Well done St. Brendan’s!
St. Luke Academy Trust Competition – Year 3 and 4 Gymnastics
On Wednesday 7th March, the year 3 and 4 St Brendan’s gymnastics teams competed against the other three schools in the St. Luke’s academy trust. St. Brendan’s hosted the event and enjoyed leading the warm-up for all of the children in attendance. Each child had to compete a Floor routine and 2 different vault jumps. All of the children were brilliant and showed confidence and poise throughout. It was an extremely close competition with lots of nervous children as we waited for the results. St. Brendan’s managed to secure 2nd and 3rd place out of 8 teams – an amazing achievement. Each gymnast was also scored individually as well as with their team and we had two gymnast placed in the top three out of 32 children – amazing! So a special well done to Tia and Lexi. Everyone competed brilliantly and should be very proud of themselves. Well done St. Brendan’s!
